Michael M. Futterman is a graduate of New York University (1970) and Brooklyn Law School (1973). He received his training at the now defunct law firm of Bower & Gardner, went on to found the firm of Bower, Sanger & Futterman, P.C. in 1995 and came to Aaronson Rappaport in 2001.
He has spent his entire career defending the most complex litigation in both Medical Malpractice and Products Liability. He has also defended asbestos litigation for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Tishman Reality and its subcontractors; HIV litigation for Mt. Sinai Hospital; and complex microwave and cellular phone litigation for Motorola, Inc. In addition he has defended civil rights (USC 1983) litigation (Use of Mescaline in unapproved psychiatric experiments) and represented the plaintiff after governmental expropriation of land. He has also represented defendants in civil cases alleging inappropriate sexual conduct. Finally, Michael heads the Aaronson Rappaport team representing the Health and Hospital Corporation of the City of New York.
He has recently lectured with Supreme Court Justice Douglas McKeon on new methods of dispute resolution in the courts involving medical malpractice litigation.
