David A. Mayeri received a J.D. degree from Albany Law School in 1994, and received his undergraduate degree with departmental honors in Political Science from Union College in 1991.
Mr. Mayeri's practice concentrates on the defense of complex medical malpractice, toxic tort and product liability matters from inception through trial. Representative matters Mr. Mayeri handles in the field of medical malpractice defense include cases involving alleged obstetrical and neonatal malpractice; cases alleging cardiologic, orthopedic and neurologic malpractice and injuries; emergency room malpractice; cases involving alleged negligent opthalmological care: failure to diagnose cancer of the breast, colon, lung and brain; matters involving nursing malpractice as well as cases involving the development of bed sores.
In addition, Mr. Mayeri has represented a major automobile manufacturer in products liability matters alleging manufacturing and design defects resulting in catastrophic injuries and property damage. Representative cases include allegations of defective seat belts, air bags, sudden acceleration, handling and stability, defective tires, and matters involving fire damage. He also served on the firm's defense team for the World Trade Center Debris Removal litigation in the Southern District of New York, and defended numerous construction, trucking, environmental and engineering subcontractors alleged to have caused respiratory illnesses and a variety of other toxic exposures to a group of over 10,000 plaintiffs.
As an associate, Mr. Mayeri volunteered through Trial Lawyers Care (TLC) to provide Pro Bono legal representation to two families who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001 before the Victims' Compensation Fund, and helped secure multimillion dollar recoveries from the fund managed by Special Master Kenneth Feinberg.
Mr. Mayeri is admitted to practice law in the courts of the States of New York and New Jersey. He is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. After a three year stint in a General Practice and litigation firm, Mr. Mayeri became an Associate of the firm in 1997. He has been a partner at Aaronson Rappaport Feinstein & Deutsch, LLP since 2006.
