Larry D. Bloomstein is a 1992 graduate of Pace University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the law review.
Mr. Bloomstein’s practice is concentrated on the defense of medical malpractice and toxic tort matters from the inception of the lawsuit up through and including trial. Within the area of medical malpractice defense, Mr. Bloomstein currently represents several major hospitals and individual physicians in the New York area in cases involving a variety of complex medical issues leading to claimed catastrophic injuries, including: the claimed failure to diagnose breast, lung and cerebral cancers; alleged obstetrical, surgical and orthopedic mismanagement; allegations of improper emergency room care; the claimed misinterpretation of radiological studies and lab results; and alleged nursing home negligence.
Mr. Bloomstein is also a member of the firm’s toxic tort defense team defending automobile manufacturers in lawsuits involving alleged asbestos exposure from brakes, clutches and other auto parts. He also serves on the firm’s defense team for the World Trade Center Debris Removal litigation pending in the Southern District of New York and assists with the defense of numerous construction, trucking and engineering subcontractors alleged to have caused respiratory and other illnesses to a group of over 10,000 plaintiffs.
Mr. Bloomstein is admitted to practice in the State Courts of New York and New Jersey, and is admitted to practice within the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and for New Jersey. He has been a Partner with the firm since 2002 and currently serves as a member of the firm's Executive Committee.
